Overall the food was fantastic especially the simple yet flavorful steamed wild Patin Buah and rge 天下第一煲 , a unique combination of soy milk and prawns, simply amazing. Highly recommend to visit on weekdays to avoid the crowds.

I swung by Restoran 88 yesterday, and wow, it was absolutely rammed. Turns out, everyone had the same brilliant idea of celebrating Father's Day early. Despite the mob, we lucked out and didn't have to wait ages for a table, which was a huge win. I hadn't been back to Restoran 88 in years, but I'm happy to report their cooking is still on point. The poached chicken was, as I remembered, wonderfully succulent and flavourful – a definite highlight. And the yam basket? Solid choice too. If you're thinking of heading over, especially for a special occasion or any occasion for that matter, I highly recommend booking first.

Dropping by for a casual dinner at 5:30pm , air cond room fully booked , so we choose to sit outside . Very humid , but fortunately the food quite good . Coming back after 10 years , the taste of the food still maintained. My personal recommendation will be ; - steam chicken (走地鸡) - steam patin fish (清蒸) - tong bo meat with mantao (东波肉) Don’t eat outside , try to make advance booking for the room and don’t come during festive season . Food - 9/10 Service - 7/10 Parking - 5/10 Environment- 6/10

Came across an article from Malaymail featuring this place, so decided to check it out. Fairly popular spot, very similar vibes to Siu Siu at Seputeh. Has parking area but limited. Air-conditioned rooms also limited seating, probably have to book a few days in advance. Saw a few mixed reviews about the food, but our experience was quite pleasant. Quite like the broth in the signature prawn claypot dish (they call it 天下第一虾煲), but the prawns itself was nothing much to shout about.

The Empurau fish (忘不了鱼) is the best fresh water fish I ever had in Malaysia. This restaurant only serves live and wild caught fish. It was steamed to perfection in their special sauce. The fresh and skin of the fish has a bit of fruity sweetness taste and smell. Price is definitely reasonable. Service staffs are helpful and attentive. Lady boss is also very friendly and truthful. For sure will be back again!

Restoran 88 has always been on my list of restaurants that I need to try but never did, not sure why. Restoran 88 is known for two things, the clean place and the delicious food. Starting off with clean place, you won't notice stained tablecloths or dirty chairs like most restaurants and is very presentable. FOOD! We decided to go with chicken meat this time, quite had enough of pork meat over Chinese New Year. We ordered Marmite Spare Ribs, which had a coat of glossy Marmite and honey. The meat was succulent and had the right amount of bite to it. Personally, I would prefer pork meat cooked in this style. Famous for their egg dishes, we tried "Steamed 3 Eggs" which is a combination of salted, chicken, and century egg. However, I didn't enjoy this dish as it wasn't what I expected it to be and was a little on the salty side. Finally, my all time favourite. This dish is my yardstick to gauge if a place is good enough for a next visit, YAM BASKET! Or what most people call it, Buddha's Yam Ring. The "basket" was fried to a good crisp but I didn't find the filling, well-seasoned and lacked taste. Maybe I'm used to having sweet sour pork meat or stir fried chicken with vegetables in mine. Service is efficient and I would consider the pricing reasonable. Definitely worth coming back but with pork dishes all the way this time!
